About

I am Alejandro Soto, a Colombian photographer based in Berlin, mostly interested in portraits and photo-essays.

I moved to Germany in 2011 to study mathematics, at the same time I started my journey with photography. During all those years I’ve learned that photography is a powerful language that allow us not only to capture what is interesting to us but, as it happens with the written word, to express how we feel and how we perceive the world from the inside.

During the summer 2019 I did participate in the Workshop Berlin Night, Berlin Light: Exploring the Personal in Photography, organized by the VII Photo Agency, led by  Linda Bournane Engelberth & Danny Wilcox Frazier. The results is in the series That Silent Presence of the Moon. In 2023 and 2024 I have been done two seminars at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie (OKS)  under the direction of Ina Schonenburg and right now I am studying the full photography program, currently at the second year,  at the OKS.
